Fingerprint it. Find it. Rebuild it.
Spector is a part library with shape intelligence. Every STL you drop in gets a Spectral-DNA fingerprint — so the library can spot duplicates the moment they arrive, find a part's relatives by shape (not filename), and hand back the geometry whenever you need it.
Other library tools find duplicates by file hash — byte-for-byte identical only. Re-export the same part from another program, rescale it, remesh it, or download it twice from different sites and they see two unrelated files. Spector compares the shape, so it sees one part.

The three verbs.
Every part gets a DNA
Import or scan a part and Spector computes its Spectral-DNA — a compact shape fingerprint that doesn't care how the model is rotated, moved or named.
Search by shape, not filename
Drop in a lookalike and Spector says "already had it" — or shows its closest relatives, ranked. Forty near-copies hiding in five hundred files stop being invisible.
The geometry comes back
Spector stores a compressed copy of the actual mesh, deduplicated by DNA — so finding a part means getting the part, not just knowing it existed.
Your library is a file you own.
One database plus one folder — trivially backup-able. One-click backup to any folder you choose (including a synced OneDrive/Dropbox folder), integrity checks on the warehouse, and a portable .spectorpack export that moves your whole library between machines. Restore is: point Spector at the backup, verify, done. No account, no cloud requirement, no telemetry.
Plays with Blender.
The Blender bridge adds "Send to Spector" and "Fetch from Spector" — and Pattern Skin's part scans store automatically, so the models you dress become a searchable library without any extra effort.
